PORTUGAL & AZORES
The Art of Slowing Down
The Art of Slowing Down is a women-only small group journey through Portugal and the Azores, designed for women traveling solo who want to reconnect with themselves in meaningful company. In June 2027, the journey takes us from the green cliffs and fajãs of São Jorge Island to a restored schist village in the mountains of central Portugal, and on to the Atlantic coast and Lisbon, weaving together nature, creativity, wellness, and Portuguese food. With just 6 to 10 women, there is space for every voice.

The Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in São Jorge
Arrive on São Jorge, a long, green island in the middle of the Atlantic, where cliffs drop into the sea and life moves at its own gentle pace.
After your private transfer, settle into your accommodation and take time to breathe in the ocean air. In the evening, gather for a welcome dinner prepared by a private chef, the first of many shared tables.
Day 2 - Fajãs, Cheese & Coffee
Today is devoted to discovering São Jorge.
Swim in the natural pools, look out over the Fajãs, and taste the island’s famous São Jorge cheese. Enjoy a picnic in the forest and stop at the natural rock arch of Velas.
In the afternoon, visit one of Europe’s very few coffee plantations in a Fajã for a tasting, join a hands-on farm experience, and end the day at the Cruzal waterfall.
A full day of green landscapes, Atlantic views, and island flavors.
Day 3 - Fajã de Santo Cristo
Lace up your shoes for one of the most beautiful walks in the Azores.
Hike down to Fajã de Santo Cristo, a remote lagoon at the foot of the cliffs, reachable only on foot. After lunch by the water, return by buggy along the coastal trail.
Back at the hotel, unwind with a yoga class and a sauna session before a farewell dinner to celebrate our time on the island.
Day 4 - A Day for Yourself
Today has no schedule. It is your last day in the Azores, made for contemplation: sleep in, swim, read, walk by the ocean, or simply sit with the view.
All meals are prepared by our private chef, so there is nothing to plan and nowhere to be.
This journey is about slowing down, and today is your invitation to do exactly that.
Day 5 - From the Island to the Mountains
Say goodbye to the Azores and fly from São Jorge to Lisbon, a flight that is included in your journey.
From there, travel by private transfer into the mountains of central Portugal, to a beautifully restored schist village hidden in the Lousã hills.
Dinner is waiting when you arrive. Settle into your stone house and let the silence of the forest set the tone for the days ahead.
Meals included: breakfast and dinner.
Day 6 - Bread, Cheese & Village Life
Climb into a jeep and head deeper into the mountains, to a village where time is still measured by the oven and the seasons.
Roll up your sleeves to make bread and cheese the traditional way, then sit down to lunch in the village with the people who call it home.
Return in the afternoon with time to rest, read, or wander the forest trails.
Meals included: breakfast and lunch.
Day 7 - Create or Simply Be
Today is yours to shape.
If you feel like creating, local artisans open their studios for optional workshops inspired by the village’s traditions, such as the potter’s wheel, miniature schist houses, wooden toys, ceramic figurines, fruit jam, or a cooking workshop dedicated to Chanfana, the region’s signature dish. These experiences are optional, come at an additional cost, and can be booked through us.
If you would rather do nothing at all, the forest trails and the silence of the mountains are waiting.
Day 8 - To the Atlantic Coast
Leave the mountains behind and travel by private transfer toward the ocean.
Arrive at your wellness hotel on the coast near Lisbon, where the spa is reserved exclusively for our group: time in the water, snacks for dinner, and a relaxing massage.
End the day with the sound of the Atlantic in the background.
Meals included: breakfast and a light dinner at the spa.
Day 9 - Lisbon by Taste & by Sail
Today, Lisbon reveals itself through its flavors.
Join a walking food tour through the city’s historic neighborhoods, with six tastings of traditional petiscos along the way.
In the late afternoon, step on board for a private sunset sailing on the Tagus River, watching the city’s hills and bridges turn golden from the water.
A day to fall in love with Lisbon.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 10 - Market, Kitchen & Farewell
Begin the day at a local market with a Portuguese chef, choosing fresh ingredients for the meal ahead.
Then step into the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class, followed by a long, relaxed lunch together.
Enjoy some free time in the afternoon before gathering for a farm-to-table farewell dinner, a final toast to the days and the friendships we have shared.
Meals included: breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Day 11 - Departure
Enjoy a final breakfast before your private transfer to Lisbon airport.
You leave with the calm of the Azores, the stories of the mountains, the flavors of Lisbon, and, most importantly, the memories created together along the way.
Meals included: breakfast.
