Travel That Gives Back to Women

Every Her Getaway Club journey leaves something behind for the women who welcome us.

Her Getaway Club is a women-only travel club with a simple mission: to give back to the community of women around the world.

We believe the best journeys are the ones that leave something behind. So every trip we design supports the women who make each destination what it is: the weavers, the cooks, the artisans, the mothers and daughters who open their doors and share their world with us.

How We Give Back

$100

donated per traveler, on every trip

For each woman who travels with us, Her Getaway Club donates $100 to a local NGO in the destination we visit.

Women-Led

projects on every itinerary

Every journey includes visits to projects run by women or created for women, from village cooperatives to craft workshops.

Small Groups

real encounters, never a show

We travel in small groups of women, so every visit feels like a conversation between people who are glad to meet.

The Women We Meet Along the Way

Every destination has women whose work holds a community together. These are some of the projects our travelers visit.

Tanzania: A Day With the Women of Mulala

On the southern slopes of Mount Meru, near Arusha, the women of Mulala village open their homes and their daily lives to us. They run a local women’s group that has been working together since 1997, and the income from visits like ours helps fund education, healthcare, and livelihoods for women in the village.

We spend the day side by side: roasting coffee, tasting honey, making bread and cheese, and cooking lunch together. See the Tanzania journey.

Peru: The Weavers of Misminay

In the Andean community of Misminay, in the Sacred Valley near Cusco, we sit with the women who keep ancestral weaving alive, thread by thread and story by story. It is a meeting of hands, color, and conversation that stays with you long after the Andes. See the Peru journey.

North India: Women’s Craft in Rajasthan

Between tiger safaris in Rajasthan, we visit a community initiative that has helped local women build sustainable livelihoods through traditional craftsmanship. It is a day that pairs the wild beauty of Rajasthan with the stories of the women who call it home. See the North India journey.

Chile: Kawésqar Basketry in Patagonia

At the far end of Patagonia, Kawésqar women welcome us into a basketry workshop led by indigenous artisans. Weaving beside them, we learn how the ancestral traditions of their people are still carried by hand. See the Chile journey.

South India: Natural Dyes and Village Life in Kerala

In the tea hills of Munnar, we visit a charitable trust, founded in 1991, that supports children and adults with disabilities through a school, vocational training, and small production units where adults earn their own income. Every unit is led by women, and women make up most of the workforce. On Day 4, we join their eco-printing workshop and learn how textiles are colored with natural dyes.

In the backwaters, our village day is hosted by local women’s self-help groups, part of a responsible tourism program that involves around 900 women, according to Kerala’s tourism board. They show us broom making, screw-pine weaving, coir work, and a plantation run by a women’s unit. See the South India journey.

Colombia: Art, Coffee, and Community

In Medellín’s Comuna 13, our visit helps fund a foundation that runs arts projects for children and young people, offering them an alternative to violence and gangs. Other neighborhood projects take part too, including a women-led food initiative that prepares the snacks we share along the way.

In the coffee region, the farm we visit is a community-driven social project. It buys coffee from small neighboring producers at favorable prices and trains them in organic fertilizers and sustainable soil care. In Cartagena, our walk through Bazurto market supports the local artists, vendors, and cultural guardians who keep it alive. See the Colombia journey.
